Not All Art Needs A Frame!
As part of the Spring Quilt Market in Portland, Oregon in mid-May, there was a quilt show where some spectacular works of fabric art were displayed. From modern to traditional styling, some with applique or thread painting, these quilts represent their talented creators very well. I am pleased to share some of the highlights with you here.

Whether purchasing specific fabric, using old friends from your fabric stash, or somewhere in between, making a quilt is a great way to exercise your creative expression!
Local Fabric Shops
As regular readers know, Mrs. DTFM and I always hit the local fabric shops when traveling, and Portland was no exception. Check back next time for the highlights of our own personal "shop hop."
Until next time, keep those sewing machines humming, and take a look at quilt ideas on Pinterest; you may find some inspiration to fit your skill level (and your stash). https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=quilts&rs=typed&term_meta[]=quilts%7Ctyped
