Quilt Options
Recently Mrs. DTFM and I finally got around to setting up a second guest room in an extra bedroom that has been used as a staging area for homeless "stuff" during the nearly two years we've lived in this house. We cleared out everything and painted the walls a deep teal color. I now need to make a quilt for the bed using some fabric from the stash (see the photo below). The lower "leafy" print is the main print, and the far left ivory print could be a secondary print (there is quite a bit of it in the stash).

I am considering some options from my "Quilt Ideas" Pinterest board https://www.pinterest.com/dancox556/quilt-ideas/ Below I have pulled those options and I'd like to have your input on which we should choose.

#1: Blue Squares Quilt
I like the simplicity of this design, but the squares may be too small for the scale of the main fabric. This also uses a LOT of sashing fabric (the background fabric surrounding the blue squares), and I'm not sure I have enough yardage.

#2 Framed Squares Quilt
This quilt uses several different fabrics, which works with the stash, but doesn't use sashing, which might be OK as well. The center square as is may also be a bit small for the main print, but I can adjust the size. I like the simplicity of this design as well, and it should be quick to make up.

#3 QOV Squares Quilt
I found this option in a grouping of quilts made for the Quilt of Valor program, quilts made by civilians for military veterans. It's sort of a variation on the "squares" theme, and also uses small squares of a variety of fabrics, which works with the available stash. There is also a nice amount of sashing, which balances the quilt design well. This one would take longer to make.

#4 Two Squares Quilt
This quilt is very similar to the Framed Squares Quilt, but it has sashing to set apart the squares. There is an opportunity to use many of the fabrics in the stash, too.

#5 Urban Cabin
This design is a bit different than the others, a more modern look. I took this photo at a quilt shop in Ketchikan, Alaska in 2012 because I liked the updated interpretation of the more traditional log cabin pattern. (Regular readers will remember that Mrs. DTFM and I always visit local fabric shops when we travel.) Still, this design may be a bit too contemporary for the more traditional look of the stash fabrics.
