The Color of the Year
Since 2000, the Pantone Color Institute has announced a color of the year. (Remember "Radiant Orchid" from 2014? Horrible.)

The color of the year for 2018, announced today, is Ultra Violet. Read on for the color report I shared with my team at Springs Creative after the webinar.

Sidebar: I really don't understand why Pantone waits until early December to announce the color for the following year. Given lead times for production and shipping of imported goods, the color won't show up in earnest in stores until the second quarter of 2018!
"DTFM," you ask, "how would you wear Ultra Violet?" (Lucky for me it's blue-toned; I avoid red-tones because they make me feel agitated.)

Suit? Not likely.

Brocade jacket? Never.

Shirt? Perhaps.

Chinos? Maybe.

Accessories? Probably. Especially the shoelaces.

Until next time, keep those sewing machines humming. Meanwhile, I'm headed out to look for purple fabric!
